New Website, District Convention, and the 90th Anniversary Holiday at Sea
An update from the membership letter going out this week — covering the District Convention, the new ila1408.org, and the 90th Anniversary Holiday at Sea cruise.
Brothers and sisters of Local 1408, this letter and post mark a few important updates that are arriving together. Please take a moment to read each one — they affect how you stay connected to the union and what's available to you over the next several months.
First, the District Convention is approaching. Officers and delegates from across the district will gather to discuss matters that affect our local and the wider organization. The hall will share more on dates and member impact as details are finalized.
Second, our new website is live at ila1408.org. The site now has a single home for upcoming events, recognition for members and headers, President's updates, simplified onboarding for new members, a member photo gallery, and information on the Holiday at Sea Cruise. A training-access area is also marked and will open as resources are added.
Third, the 90th Anniversary Holiday at Sea Cruise is now bookable directly from the website at 1408holidayatsea.com. Members and their families can choose a cabin, secure a deposit, and review payment options online. The cruise sails December 3–7, 2026 from Jacksonville aboard the Carnival Elation. The deposit holds the reservation; the balance is due closer to sail.
Reach out to the union hall for any questions on these items. We appreciate your continued brotherhood.
